Uhus Jugger Tutorials #1 is out
After reading a question where one could find tips how to play the shield I decided to do a little tutorial series myself. So now I can proudly present the first issue of Uhus Jugger Tutorials: Basics of Pompfen making. Because before you can play the shield, you mostly will have to make one ...
The parts of the video:
- Introduction – some words on the background.
- Basics of Pompfen making – just some general thoughts on the materials used to make Jugger spars.
- The Shield – two different designs, strap and wooden grip, and basics about how a shield is made.
The next part should be about the basic stance and fighting techniques of the Jugger shield. I will do it as soon as time and our sports hall allows it.
Oh and sorry for my English folks, I am quite focused on Swedish at the
moment (Falco adultus Leo commented that I would even have "a Swedish
accent when speaking English now" -- wonderful!)
I
nevertheless hope you enjoy the video!

Note: Legendary archery technique on Youtube and analysis
There is a famous archer video currently put forward on youtube; without having to go into detail, it is at least interesting to point the visitor to the analysis that has been done on it (without any claim that it is valid, just mention the doubtful source, but it has some valid points*). Just a hint to do own thinking before being awed.
- The analysis
- The video:
*) If you want to find odd ends in the argumentation you would doubtlessly succeed, an example being "What he obviously fails to understand is that artists in the past were as likely to be just as inaccurate and ignorant of archery techniques as artists today. They generally painted scenes that they either witnessed without understanding, or made up out of their heads, often based on what previous artists had done and compounding the errors" about which Albrecht Dürer with his excellent documentations of weapons would have to say a word or two, see for example Müller, Heinrich: Albrecht Dürer – Waffen und Rüstungen. But picking on details is not the point here.
